What a great selection of programs! I’m listening right now in Southern New York using a Tecsun PL-660 receiver. When I’m using the telescopic antenna, I can barely hear your station, but when I use the external wire antenna I can hear your station significantly clearer. I hope reception conditions improve over the coming days.
Keep up the great work, you have a regular listener here in New York.
On Facebook, Global24 responded to a question regarding Global24’s beam. Is the beam due north or 355 degrees? I ask because I don’t know any listener west of the USA’s Great Plains that can receive your broadcast on 9395 kHz. I assume WRMI is aware of this problem, correct?
I will ask the engineers. We have had 52 reception reports from CA, AZ, UT, MT, WA, OR and a handful total from ID, SD, NH. What are you using for an antenna? I have been told we aren’t going to make any antenna adjustments in the near, immediate future.
I’m using LF Engineering’s H-800 antenna coupled to Tecsun’s PL-660 portable SW receiver. Eventually, I might try my Cross Country SDR-4+ receiver, but I shouldn’t need it. The PL-660 is quite sensitive and the H-800 is a very good amplified antenna. Part of the problem is probably due to elevated solar winds recently, but even elevated solar winds shouldn’t prevent reception at all. I certainly hope that WRMI reconsiders their decision to forgo adjustment of their antenna as most listeners in the western USA will probably just give up attempting to listen. I appreciate your inquiry, though.
TP…thanks…what is your noise floor in S-Units?
We appreciate your dedication and desire to hear us. Ultimately, Global 24 is selecting where the antenna is pointed - WRMI is working with us to help us meet our business objectives. We are all in sync. We just ask that you continue to be patient with us as we evaluate all options.
With my PL-660, I can’t determine the noise floor, but the noise floor of the 31 meter band tends to be higher than other bands. I’m pleased that WRMI is working with Global24 to help meet your objectives. Did you find the exact beam heading? I’d appreciate it. BTW, I’ll be out for awhile. Maybe, in a few weeks, I’ll try to see if I can setup my SDR-4+ with my Pixel Technologies’ magnetic loop.
Hello I have been listening to your programs on 9395 Khz for the past 2 hours that Radio Poland and Deutsche Welle and have enjoy listening both of these broadcast. Looking forward to the program on Fukishima Disaster thank you for this. My receiver is Eton E1 XM radio with a DX Ultra Antenna with inverted ve . The signal here in Western South Carolina has been good a plus 10-20 with some fading SINPO 54444. I think you have a loyal listener here too. I’m looking forward in hearing the Radio Prague and Voice of Russia. Thank you again!! Brant
I’m enjoying the MLK program via the web sdr yoursite links to. I hope to be able to listen via shortwave at my location in the western US.
Global24 is becoming so popular that web SDR is dropping connections along with Shoutcast … LoL
I don’t know, but it’s definitely becoming more difficult to hear Global24 online especially with the use of a proxy. I’ll be glad to rid myself of SSH and proxies one day. Viva la radio.
Let’s hope that Global24 is able to solve the reception problems the western us is having before we run out of options.
Greetings from Malaysia. Had been trying to receive Global24 on my Degen 1103 but no luck so I tune to the websdr at (http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/). SIO - 444. 0200 - 0300UTC. Program: The happy station show - DJ Keith perron. Details: songs by cat stevens, lisa minnelli, gloria estefan. Looking forward to the Rock program later. Cheers!
